Void House
A brutalist staircase, shot at the precise moment its shadow aligns with the geometry.
Void House is a private residence designed by Studio Hara, completed in 2023. We were given complete access to document the interior across a single 72-hour window after final commissioning, before the family moved in.
THE PROCESS
Form is the answer to a problem we forgot we asked.
The architect's brief to us was simple: photograph the silence. The challenge was that the silence required no human presence in the frame, which meant we had to work entirely between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. each day. The reward was rooms that had never been seen before, even by the architect.
